More than 7,000 in Bullitt County will have access to high-speed internet by next year

Nearly 7,200 homes and business in Bullitt County will soon have access to high-speed internet for the first time thanks to a new installment.Kinetic and Kentucky government officials announced the installment of fiber in the area on Tuesday.”High-speed internet is a key part of our plan to build a better Kentucky,” Gov. Andy Beshear said. “It allows Kentuckians to stay connected with school, healthcare services and family, and is also critical to the success of our state’s economy and to future job creation.”Kinetic started this project in January of this year and is expected to be finished installing the optical fiber cables by January of 2023.This installment will allow users to download at up to one gigabit per second, according to Kinetic.The project is part of a $2 billion multiyear capital investment by Kinetic to help expand gigabit internet access across the 18 states they serve.Kinetic says they expect to have fiber installed in every county in Kentucky that it serves over the next couple of years.
